For the unit on presentations, I used Microsoft PowerPoint to create a slideshow that can be utilized by students. The presentation is appropriate for 6th grade students and reviews ratios and fractions while teaching about water usage. It meets the Common Core Standards for 6th grade mathematics: "Standard:CCSS.Math.Content.6.RP.A.3.c
Find
a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100
times the quantity); solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part
and the percent." The project not only shows I can use Microsoft PowerPoint but can utilize it in such a way the students can use it to learn/review material. To improve this project, I would add more slides to review fractions at the beginning and would also have critical thinking questions at the end for students.
